Your Business at the Met

Belfast Metropolitan College held the 'Your Business at the Met' event with funding from Connected

Belfast Metropolitan College held the ‘Your Business at the Met’ event funding under the Connected programme through the  Showcasing and Celebrating Innovation Success fund.

This event was developed in collaboration with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Social Enterprise NI and aimed to promote the support programmes available to small businesses.

We kicked off the event with an introduction from Belfast Met’s Economic Development Manager, Margie McKay, who provided an overview of the Innovation and Skills programme on offer from the College as well as an insight into the impact of these programmes on small businesses.

Vice Chair at Northern Ireland Housing Executive, John McMullan MBE, delivered a talk around the benefit of these funded programmes to grass-roots businesses and social enterprises within Belfast.

Refuge Chocolate, a social enterprise supported through the Connected and InnovateUs programmes at Belfast Met, inspired the attendees with the story of her business and the impact the programmes had made on her.

This event was great opportunity to have discussion around the innovation success stories within Northern Ireland and the challenges and gaps which still need to be addressed.
