About the Case
With a particular expertise in the dry-blending, extrusion compounding and grinding of coloured polyolefin materials the company had identified a need for improved materials tailored for use in complex products specified to withstand technically challenging situations not normally associated with standard polyethylene powders. The company collaborated with PPRC in the development of reliable test methods and embedment of technical knowledge to identify new applications for rotomoulded products using new materials and exploiting new technologies. Building on the PPRC partnership with Total Petrochemicals, the company is working with both partners on further developing TP-SEAl® and Bio-TP-Seal® materials for use in products such as high-barrier motorcycle and small off-road vehicle fuel tanks as well as multi-layer, skin/foam/skin Structural sandwich constructions ideal for boat hulls
